SAN JOSE, Calif. – May 28, 2008 – Selectica (NASDAQ: SLTC), a leading provider of contract management and sales configuration solutions, today announced the appointment of a new executive team to help drive sales for the company’s Product Configuration group. Dan Pepper has been named Vice President, Sales; Jack Shaw has been named Vice President, Product Management; and Stephan Sorger has been named Vice President, Product Marketing. The new sales and marketing team brings extensive collective experience in CRM, ERP, supply-chain technology, and enterprise system sales and marketing to Selectica. They will have responsibility for expanding the market for the Selectica Simplexity Configurator™, used to simplify complex manufacturing and sales configuration problems. They will also manage the strategic partnerships with IBM and other vendors who deliver value-added solutions based on Selectica’s sales configuration software.

Dan Pepper brings more than 25 years of enterprise software sales management and marketing to his role as Vice President of Sales. Before joining Selectica, Mr. Pepper spent four years working as Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Development for Citadon, a collaboration and business process management service company that later became CTSpace. Prior to Citadon Mr. Pepper held key management positions with technology industry leaders including Oracle, Dun & Bradstreet, and General Electric, as well as a variety of enterprise software start-ups, including Versant, PureEdge, BenefitAmerica, AppStream and Responsys.
Jack Shaw brings more than 30 years experience to his role as Vice President, Product Management, with responsibility for guiding the strategic product direction of Selectica’s Sales configuration business. Mr. Shaw has extensive experience in enterprise software strategic marketing, product management, and information technology consulting. Before joining Selectica, Mr. Shaw served as Vice President of Commercial Systems for Applied Systems Intelligence. He also founded and served as President of e-Commerce Strategies, a consulting firm, and Director of Product Marketing, Supply Chain Solutions, at MSA. Mr. Shaw is a world class authority and noted author in the field of eCommerce, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Yale University, and an MBA in Finance & Marketing from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
As the new Vice President of Product Marketing, Mr. Sorger brings extensive experience in marketing CRM technology to Selectica, having formerly led product marketing and strategy for CRM products at SAP, Oracle, and Aspect Communications. While at SAP and Oracle, Mr. Sorger crafted new product strategy, improved analyst product rankings, overhauled messaging and positioning, and drove industry marketing content, resulting in significant new revenue. While at Aspect, he was extensively involved in a major Selectica implementation, so he has first-hand knowledge of Selectica’s offerings from a user perspective. Mr. Sorger has spoken frequently at industry conferences and panels to drive awareness and credibility within the CRM space. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from California Polytechnic University and a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering as well as an MBA from the University of Southern California.
